Matthew 5:45 “for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.”
I have used this scripture in the past to illustrate the need to prepare (with supplies) for all things because both the righteous and unrighteous are subject to the same events, both good and bad, both of which have been prophesied for the latter days.
I have also used it to illustrate that our need to be prepared and self-reliant will often be a result of things we have no control over (both man and nature) including the above events.
We most often consider being prepared as having “stuff” and money to help us get through whatever happens. What about insurance? Do you have insurance to help you get through the difficulties of the latter days and those things you have no control over? Some insurance we are required to have by law but others we are not. Prayerfully consider these kinds of insurance and which ones would be wise for you to have:
- Medical
- Dental
- Vision
- Life
- Disability
- Homeowners
- Auto
- Flood
- Earthquake
- Long-term care
Bishop J. Richard Clarke encouraged members to get insurance in a conference address. He said, “We can increase…options by proper insurance planning.”
Not everyone is the same. Not everyone has the same insurance needs, but it is wise to have insurance. Prayerfully decide which you should have.
